Changing Skylines

City of London Skyline from Waterloo Bridge

London’s skyline has changed many times in recent years with the addition of new iconic buildings. With the addition of modern skyscrapers, Saint Paul’s Cathedral no longer dominates views of the City across the Thames. In this view from Waterloo Bridge the new Heron Tower at 110 Bishopsgate is seen on the left of Tower 42.

The view of the City from Waterloo Bridge is always different. Cloud cover, clear sky, visibility, angle of the sun and subtle differences to the light all contribute to create a different image from day to day or even hour to hour. Construction cranes seem to be an omnipresent feature of the London skyline.
