A black and white photograph of Bells’ Bridge and The Clyde Auditorium (aka “The Armadillo”) at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (S.E.C.C.) on the waterfront at Finnieston in Glasgow, Scotland. Taken in April 2008. The streaks of cirrus cloud give texture to what would otherwise be a bland, uninteresting sky.
The cable-stay bridge was built for pedestrian access to the Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988, a tourist attraction that was part of the redevelopment of the south bank. The bridge pivots on its pier to allow boats to pass.
